Default TH350 rebuild question

Does anyone know if the rear input ring shaft needle bearing thrust washer (not the tabbed one, the one towards the rear of the tranny on that assembly) is supposed to seat flat up against the housing? The Haynes manual (and my other one) simply say to use KY to hold it - but it looks like the thing will get crushed if it's not seated on the base of that shaft.

thanks,

sirhC

Ok, might help if I call it the right part ... it's the ouput shaft to case needle bearing. <g>

The instructions say to grease it up and install it with the lip facing the case - do I just rest it on the clutch assembly or do I try to seat it? Seems to me the lip will get crushed if I install it the way it wants to install.

thx,
