Do you really mean trailing arm? Or do you mean camber rod??

For the trailing arm, I think they would be too small, I'd use 1" or bigger if you are only using one.

For the camber rod they be great.

ride harshness, I doubt it would make a huge difference.I have them on the camber rods and can't tell the difference.

3/4 is kinda big, stock is 5/8th.. I have 5/8th on the camber rods but 3/4th w/ reducer inserts on the trailing rods.

5/8th will handle about anything you can throw at it....if you use a quality rod end and you can use the stock shock bolt/pin for 5/8th. There's not enough meat in the bearing assemblies to upgrade to a 3/4th rod and have a good amount of meat left.

Yes, replacing it with a spherical bushing is a good idea, it allows the arm to move through the whole suspension travel and maintain the arch without having to distort the bushing. There are 2 options for a joint a spherical joint or a johnny joint/bushing which is a cross breed between a spherical joint and a normal urethane bushing. IMO the greasable johnny joint is the best solution for a street driven car. The spherical end rides in the urethane socket and is greasable.

Hey redvetracr, I got ya beat on this one. I also have a pair of trailing arms with spherical joints installed. Except I want $350 for mine!

Of course mine have the calipers and rotors too.

As far as your question deadvet, yes they do make for a harsher ride, not unbearable, but you will notice the differnce. Of course you will also notice the difference in handling as the joints make a real differnce in keeping your trailing arms lined up. Mine have zerks in the joints and I kept mine greased.

I'm going with really wide tires so I bought the modified trailing arms. The spherical joints will go in some time after I've had a chance to get the car back together and enjoy some crusin' first.

Sounds Like There Are Several Good Ideas Out There. I'm currently building a track car and want something that has zero deflection. I'm not concerned with noise or ride comfort. I have not seen nor heard of the Johnny Joint . Are There Pictures Out There or A Link To A Supplier. dsagers What Did You Use To Make Your Setup. It looks similar to the Herb adams setup that I have seen, but I believe it is no longer available as they seem to be out of business. The Picture In The Link Is To Small For Me To See details. I have been to several local (Sacramento California) bearing supply houses. They all have the spherical bearing, but no housing that would seem to work. I have considered cutting of the end of the t arm and welding in a threaded tube that I could put a 3/4 inch rod end into it, secured by jam nuts, but have continued to look for an alternative. Stock Car Products has different size Monoball setups, which is what I would like to use, but they are all to big with a 2.5 inches diameter housing, which appears to be to big to work with the front of trailing arm. The Herb Adams setup was a smaller like kind set up. Anyway, Any Additional Help, Design Info, Photos,or Supplier Info Would Be Great. Also has anybody come up with a method for adjusting the rear toe without using shims. I have seen Guldstand's setup, but its expensive and Im not sure it would work well with a heim/monoball setup. Thanks!

I have some better pics, but the probelm is I've been using DigitalCorvettes to host my pics, and this small size is all I can get.

Anyone know how I can post bigger pics?
