Well with full throttle this thing rips,im now impressed,at first i was alittle dissappointed but now with full throttle this thing pulls so hard compared to the old tpi motor.Had to make a few adjustment getting the tv cable right but now its back to where i like it and also found out the p/s problem,i need a cap that was vented to relieve the pressure works great.Bad part was i went over a bridge at 75 and bottomed out onthe oil pan,my azz puckered up big time, looked oil guage to see if it dropped to 0 and coasted to a stop,i see a drip so i hope i didnt crack it.I got things to do now so ill check it out another night,For now i feel it was all worth it .LS1 will stay. If you can do this swap go for it.

Very cool, Pat. Was the old engine a 406 with TPI?
You just can't understand the power until you drive one. I easily pulled away from a fairly stock big block 70 a year or so ago. Went from about 20 to ... the speed limit of course.
I know their torque curve is very flat. They pull like a train. Very smooth. My bro in law got a LS7 for his project. Can't wait for that. Nothing like technology.
That's awesome Pat. Reading your 1st post I wasn't too suprised about you wanting to upgrade already , but from the sounds of it now, that thing really comes alive If I didn't put so much into my present engine, I would consider the new tech but at least the 388 is still giving me big when I drive it
oil pan is from a 2004 truck silverado 5.3 its being cut right now and rewelded, the truck pan sat too low,and i already bottomed out hard on the second drive so i couldnt take another chance.
The headers i reused my hooker sidepipes and cutt off the flanges and had to move 2 pipes on each side to line back up to the ls1 flanges and weld them up worked perfect and sound great,i think im gone to take out my augger style mufflers because now its alittle too quiet for me.
Cardo,i work fast
Im going away this weekend hopefully monday the oil pan will be done so i can take it for some more spirited driving.

I rode in my buddies 2002 6 speed yesterday and was thinking that the LS1 would be an awesome engine in our vettes. I even mentioned your car during the ride. His car is all stock, no mods. I can just imagine how that engine would be in our cars. Good work Pat. I am wanting to add Fuel Injection to mine, this would be the perfect addition.
