69 vettes had bolt on heat shields/deflectors. Most major suppliers have them.

Try thermotek adhesive insulation from Summit. Comes in different size sheets. You just have to really clean, scrub abd degrease the underside first. Works pretty good on my 79 keeping interior heat out of the cockpit are. Not overly expensive, just do good prep work.

I've been looking for the past 2 months for a good heat insulation to also serve as a sound deadener. There are tons of mats available such as the Thermotek from Summit Racing. I've actaully been more intereted in the liquid paint type. A few companies make a ceramic coating paint that does the job of both but your able to get it into areas that matt just won't fit. Summit also carries Lizard Skin ceramic insulation. www.secondskinaudio.com also has a bunch of products that are rated better than dynomat including both matts and liquids.
Another company I have been looking into is http://www.cascadeaudio.com/
The only issue with corvettes and these liquid paint-on ceramic insulation is the bonding issue. SecondSkin says their ceramic coating won't adhere to plastic which is fiberglass. Most companies advise painting the surface before painting the ceramic coating. I'm not sure what I will use, I'm running hooker sidepipes so I need something inside the doors for heat. Let me know what you decide and how it works.

Joe- sidepipes would cutdown on your heat problem big time. No more direct heat right under the cabin like you get with undercar systems. Plus they would look real good on your vert. Also frees up space underneath around the trans and diff. You don't necessarily have to spend the $$ on the hookers, I've seen many members recently do a very nice set-up for cheap...just do a search.
Just a thought...
