Light at End of Tunnel
Got home from work today, bolted in my exhaust, dropped in the battery, turned the key just to see if my re-headed starter would engage and about two pumps of the gas pedal and ten cranks later...VOOOMMMM!!! Checked the lights-good. Checked the wipers-good(after I turned on the switch under the dash). Stepped on the brakes-brake lites work too. Stepped on the clutch pedal; everything OK after a little initial squeal. Tomorrow I'll set the timing and drop it off the jacks and take it out to see if my $500.00 eBay trans is gonna puke all over the street......

Beware
Just a last minute note if you use the Hurst shifter.....everything on mine seemed FINE until I finally jacked the tranny into final position and tried to drive the car-NO first gear!! After removing the tranny and writing my ebay salesperson a nastygram, I checked it out on the bench and everything's OK. Put it back in the car and as soon as the crossmember's up- NO FIRST GEAR. Took the crossmember BACK down after I noticed the 1-2 shift5 rod clinking against the park brake pulley bracket. Took out my trusty 4" grinder and whacked 1" off the front of the bracket and now she's OK. THIS COULD HAPPEN TO YOU (I bet it doesn't with a stock shifter)....
