Differential Help
I have a couple of C3's and I was wondering what differentials are interchangeable. It appears to me that '63 to '79 rear ends are the same, but I can't find any data indicating that this is the case. Also, anyone know of someone who rebuilds vette diff's in Ohio. Thanks for the help!

The 63-79 will work but the internals are not all the same. The 63-64 posi's are junk and not rebuildable. The 65-69 use 10-18 spiders which are not as strong as the 70-79 10-17 spiders or heat treated sets. The 65-69 use solid clutches which are better then the later junk GM called clutches or the aftermarket trash fiber coated ones. The 70-79 bearing caps have a cast in shim flange the early caps don't. The early bearing cap screws were not grade 8, the 70-79 were but all should be replaced with socket head cap screws for strength.
