Default Quadrajet ID help

I recently purchased a Quadrajet off of E-bay that was suppose to be off of a 74, the same year as mine. The carb is identical to mine except it doesn't have the port to connect the vapor tank to. The carb # is 7045229Z8 with 2175 stamped below. The second to last charater is definately a Z , can anyone tell me what is carb might have come off of.

Thanks

I think it is a 75 carb and not a corvette number. Beyond that, I cant say. For example carb on base engine 4 spd in 75 was 7045223. yours is 7045229. I dont know what the "Z8" is at the end. A 74 carb would be "44" instead of "45". Anybody else? MJ

The black book says 7045223 is a Corvette carb. Its listed as installed on a 1975 L48,350ci, 165hp, manual trans

QJet 7045229 was used on the 400 cu in engine in 75 K10 and K20 trucks.
