Great vids!!! But the one of the C5 running over that guy made the hair go up on my neck....NOT GOOD :(

Most of the links on the bottom half of the page don't work. Anf that cursor thing with the thumbnail image makes it difficult to navigate the page.

 

Where did you get this video of the person being run down by a vette?

Yes, I know its kinda sad. But that is not why I put it on there. I love the sound that Vette is making on the course.

Geocities is really screwing me over on some stuff, that is why the bottome half won't work right now. I have to go to work so I will fix that as soon as I'm able. I have also removed the tail, thanks for that suggestion.

No its not disrespectful. I happen to disagree. It is real, it happened, and it will happen again. Racing cars is dangerous , and this proves it. Even at a "safe" place ! Be careful even if you are watching. I can see why you think that it is disrespectful, but its freedom of speech. I like to watch accidents to see what went wrong, as a tool if you will.

 

So if that was your brother or dad you wouldn't mind showing it all over the net?

now, now. I made this site for the fun and love of corvettes and autos in general. I didn't mean for it to be this big issue.

 

I say it is good for people to see that stuff it keeps you in the right fram of mind when you go to things and stay at a safe distance.I think it is sad for the family and it is not funny but people do need to know.It may save a life one day.IMO

 

This is still all in good fun, but it is a forum and I like to discuss things with our members. Smartest forum I have been able to visit yet And actually I hope that if I die in an auto wreck or airplane wreck or anything exciting that it is caught on tape ! I see where your comming from. But I disagree. Its just an animal that is being mauled by 3000lbs of one of my favorite cars ! Im not looking at it like "oh thats dave! " Im looking at it like "wow, he lost control of that car and fishtailed it way too far!" He should have been on the brakes way sooner, or had the active handling turned on. Thats why they make safety devices. I attend auto crossing events and rally events. DONT STAND ON THE OUTSIDE OF A TURN UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT THE OUTCOME! I have seen rally videos where masses of people get ran over , mainly due to the fact that they stand in stupid spots. They did look like they were well clear of the track, but no retaining wall. Please don't take this like an angry "im pissed" kind of statement Because its not. Its more like a what do you think? kind of thing. Should the world not see these types of incidents because a few people know this guy? I know that after watching rally racing videos, I won't stand on the outside of a turn. If I do, I stand the chance of being caught on tape being ran over by a cool auto with a crappy driver. It happens, lets learn from it. :cheers:

 

Flood - I'm not saying that we are all little children that need to be shielded from all that is bad -
It's really nothing compared to some of the FOX specials or the evening "news" show.
I understand that it may be a good tool to spare others, but I feel it's just bad taste.

About the guy hit buy the C5,

That video was posted in the OT section. A forum member replied who was at that autocross, and said that the guy struck was repeatedly warned to stay away from the track, but didn't listen. Thankfully I don't think it was fatal. Just a couple of broken leggs.

I personally think the video is very disturbing, but is a very important reminder to respect the track rules and the cars. Even the mighty C5 is capible of loosing control. No matter what the speed, when a car is at it's maximum anything can happen.

But anyay, thanks for posting all the videos! I can't wait 'til you get the other links fixed.

no problem. I fixed some of the links. and then some that i fixed (not all) screwed up again. Wait.. I know what it is, geocities wants to make my life miserable. O'well, guess you can't win them all. I'll keep working at it for you guys though. :D

 

you know, i may be sick, but i find that film funny. especially after hearing the story behind it. i mean you argue about standing there, your told not to do it, you do it anyways. what did he think was going to happen he is watching a bunch high performance cars finding out how they handle and how to stear. geez lets stand on the road with a race car on the track... duh.
