Overheating '69 -Thermostat?
Never done that before.
left it a few minutes checked the surge tank cap 9part opened to see how much pressure was there, then got back in and started her again. This time the temp settled at normal range for this car at about 200 degrees.
Drove to a service station to put some gas in then when \i stared it again it did the same thing-temp rose again.Gave it a braek(still at service station) and when stared again temp was ok.Started her at home again tonight and same thing happened.
I've ordered a new thermostat -would this b the most liekly cause -a sticking thermostat or what other posibilities could there be?
Have a club run this weekend so want to get her sorted.
The car does run a bit hot normally at about 200-210 degrees.
Appreciate your advice.
Chris
I guess it could possibly be bottom rad hose collapsing a little or
temp. sending unit not working correctly but My money would be on
T-stat.
