What are the fiber optics concerns on a 1970 Vette??? A good buddy is looking to buy a 1970 T-Top and someone told him to check fiber optics. What does that mean??? Thanks in advance for your replys.
AFAIK, the fibre optics let you know when you have a bulb gone.
The fibres are connected to the lamp holders and are then routed inside the car to the dash. With the lights on the fibre optics light up. If one doesnt light, you know the bulb is gone.
This is assuming they work correctly and that the fibres havent been bent/cracked snapped etc.
Nice if they work, no big problem if they dont....

Possibly quite expensive to replace or repair????
Are the fiber optics indicators located on the dash???
