Default Switch

I'm just wondering what the switch to the left of the fan/heater controls in the centre console is for.It has a Green light come on in the down position.
Also do 79 Vette's have Power Steering or Assisted steering? (Can't find any Power Steering Fluid reservoir)
And 1 more thing,What is the oil capacity for the T350 gearbox?(I'm Australian so in Litres please )

Other than the fan switch ON the fan/heater controls, my 79 does not have another switch.

The power steering reserviour is not seperate from the power steering pump. It is all one unit and there is a cap located on top of the pump. The pump is located just below the alternator, driver side, front of engine.

I can't tell you the capacity of the TH350 tranny. Just start the engine, run thru the gears (of course with your foot on the brake), put the tranny in park, leave the engine running and keep filling until the fluid reaches the full mark. I'm guessing 10-12 US quarts. Sorry my US to metric conversions are weak.

That explains why mine don't have one.

Aussiebob, you will need 22.7L if all you are going to drop the pan and change the filter on the xmission. had to convert from quarts. by the way if you have a right hand drive vette the powersteering pump will be on the passengers side it's hid under the altinator. Having a couple of jaguars had to learn the difference. about the green light can't help you there i have a 69 and havent noticed it.
