Has anyone used a 'door handler'. It holds a door while you install the bolts through the hinges and allows you to adjust things. Seems like its worth its weight in gold
Eastwood has one for $300 and Northern tools has one for $270. Northern is about to tick me off - as I prepayed 6-8 weeks ago and they are jacking me around on it.
I have the Harbor Freight door handler, but I ended up suspending my door from my cherry picker engine hoist using some nylon webbing tie down straps. That worked out great.
Set the door on a jackstand and have the neighbor kid steady it in exchange for a ride around the block and put the $300 into a mutual fund.
Oh - I don't know... getting my doors to fit nicely will take 2-3 installs/removals. That is alot of tedious work. Then once they are painted, I don't think I want to put a little boy down the street in the position of seeing me with fire flaming from my eyes, fowl verbage regurgitated from my mouth if he dropped my door.
Besides - I could resell it to a CF member at a discount and spread the love.
