speedo needle jumping
i posted a few weeks back how my 73's needle on the speedo lagged than jumped to catch up w/ the speed,,well it was a ez fix,,it wasnt the cable itself thats new. it wasnt the guage,,i took it apart at the 1/2 section and put the battery drill to it ,,the speedo itself worked flawlessly,,it was the way i routed the cable,,wanted it nice and neat at the time i instaled it, it had 1 too many 90 degree bends,,causing extra drag on the inner cable..rerouted it and its as smooth as silk now,,,just glad i didnt have to rip the dash out again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a good tip for those who may be having these types of problems. I may have to see what I can do with mine.

i came straight down from the guage(actuall 1st bend would be here) then ran under the heat shield on drivers side floorboard,on a angle into the 700 r-4 so there is only 1 swooping 90(out of the firewall and down) the difference is night and day,very smooth operation now,,also trans shop sealed the fitting onto the trans,,when the trans cools down(i got a deep b&m chrome pan w/ drain plug) the fluid drains down from the torque converter, so it will find a place to get out if not all sealed up, mine was pissin out of the cable inlet down the cable on the crossmember ect, now dry as a bone..
