Default Another headlight thread (clearance issue)

do to an accident had by the previous owner of my '79 and some shoddy bodywork, the headlights are having clearance issues. They catch on the body at the back (hinge area) of the lights when they pop up. Now you have to get out of the car and bang on them with your fist and they pop right up. This is always fun in traffic.

How do I adjust this to get proper clearence? There is plenty of vacum/spring tension as they pop up with athority once you give them a good whack.

2 bolts on underside of the headlight door hold a bracket on, the bracket has slotted holes. Losten the bolts and slide the lid forward a bit.

Same thing with my 79. Same as what sixfooter said but also check how the glass is bonded to the header at the top edge, this is where mine was hanging up.
