Default Starter wires

Hey guys.. i really should of taken pictures b4 i ripped my engine bay apart.. I looked up a few threads on starter wiring.. I have a 79 L-82. Im confused if the thick black wire and also the red wire with the large eye connector go on the same post? an then the third wire goes to the s post correct?

Thats right.

S stands for start, should be purple wire on this lug. The red wire with the large eyelet on it is from the alternator to keep the battery charged.

in that pic are the two red wires running on the same pole as the thick black one? it is hard to tell.. thank you for the picture

Purple one does goe on 'S' terminal, yellow one on 'R', Red one, along with the thick black one (battery positive) on the large nut. Then their should be a thinner black wire, which goes on the connecting screw for the solenoid (ground). Thats the way my 68 starter is and its original.....
