Default 650 or 750?

I have a way to get a Barry Grant carb for a really good price, but I wanted to know your opinions on which size to get. My engine setup is a GMPP 290hp smallblock. I have an edelbrock victor jr manifold and hooker sidemount headers. I feel like my engine is at the point where I could either go with a 650 or 750cfm, but I'm not sure. Would it be possible to get the 750, jet it down, and have the option to jet back up if I were to get heads/cam in the near future, or is it just too much carb?

Thanks in advance!!!

When in doubt...

Run around in circles and cry!

Naw, I'd probably go with the 650, m aybe the 750 if you plan on doing some more major mods in the future.

650 is plenty for your setup.

Listen to your buddies, they are right. The 750 is too much. I have a builder friend who put together a 10 second 350 Camaro with an Edelbrock 750 and said it would have been much easier to have tuned a 600cfm up to get that performance than it was to tune the 750 down. God bless, Sensei
