Corvette SS
It just hit me... I've been big with the gm muscle cars... i've seen cars like the chevelle and camaro which have been blessed with the SS option, and not until last week did it hit me. "why is there no corvette SS?" i know that the purpose of the ss is to make the car faster... and all around better. is it that the corvette was too good and couldn't be made any better? anyone with info, please share.

I would think it was because there wasn't a "base level" Corvette. There were plenty of straight 6 Camaros and Chevelles with shifters on the column, bench seats and the like, so there was a big need for an up-grade or "better" vehicle. :chevy :chevy :chevy

Chevrolet did make a Corvette SS !!! Zora Arkus-Duntov wanted to go Road Racing in 1957-58 :D So behind closed doors his teams of engineers worked on the very first ever "SS" (Super Sport) back in 1956-57 :cool: It was a very special car :D Until Chevrolet pulled the plug ! I'll try to find more info later I know I have it here somewhere ! Here's my 90' Corvette SS :seeya
