is there any kits that will lower the car about an inch or 2, going for a pro-touring style using 18" wheels for the front and 20" for the rear. we want to lose that wheel well gap.
Im not sure if they offer lowering springs for the C3 or not, but i bought my 81 and it is lowered in the front about an inch or 2. Im not sure if its because my ssprings need to be replaced or what....but i kind of like it and im not sure im goin to hurry to change the springs. lol, but try searching for lowering springs.
VBP 550lb springs lower it an inch at least. Lots of guys have cut off a half coil on their 550s or even more. Especially if you have aluminum heads etc. I'll be cutting mine this summer. Look at the pics of my car at CarDomain to see the ride height. (Link is in my signature)

there are no already lowered kits available. you will need to do some mods to acheive the look you want. start with a good game plan, search this forum for resource and ask alot of Q's before putting your $ down.
From: the land of a never ending frame-off resto-mod. May Visa have mercy on my soul.
You should call Vansteel about the suspension that you want. Look at their website for information about the different set-ups. You need to decide exactly what you want as far as ride ability and performance.
They are very helpful over the phone and will steer you (pun intended) the right way. 20s are a very large rim on the vette and will probably be too much actually. 18s are generally the max. 20s have been done but see if that is really the look that you want.
The C3 suspension can be set up with many different combinations that will take it from a boulevard cruiser to a competitive race car.
Before you start draining your bank account bolting on parts, figure out how you want to use the car and what ride quality you want. Then call Guldstrand, Van Steel and Vette Brakes and discuss your goals with them. Compare their responses and then make your decision. Bigger is NOT always better with suspension parts. Balance and matched components are the keys to the performance you want.
Any performance setup begins with a rebuilt basic system - ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm, control arm bushings, steering box rebuild. Do this first, then your upgrades will do what they are designed to do.......
