Recently, the question was posted regarding the installation of a C4 fan in a Shark AC housing. The photos below are of my install. I sectioned the case 1” and since it is fiberglass, just glassed back in the gap. Then sanded the work smooth, primed and painted. The breather tube is a C4’s and I used a plumbing fitting to create a nipple to receive the tube to the housing.
Only problem is no one ever gets excided about something that looks like it came from the factory.
There is only one wire on the C4 motor, POS. The NEG is just grounding the case. And the factory ’69 motor was just the same.
In the first & third photos there are two POS’s leads but that is the way it was done back then . One is for non-AC cars the other for with AC cars. AC cars received a complete AC harness, and the non-AC wire was just clipped off and taped. The capacitor shown in the POS line is for the radio and so I just put it back the same way.
So you actually cut it in 2, separated it 1", and glassed, sanded, and painted it back together? I can't even tell. It looks like you bought a custom molded one.
I also never quite figured out where the vent hose went, but now I think I do.
BTW, I've always preferred mods that look like they came from the factory...
I know what you mean 999, here are some shots of the modification on my car that no one cares about:
The modified piece is on the right, tho not finished, you can see how much 1" "unshrouds" the discharge to the coils.
This shows factory on left and modified on right:
Sorry about the pic size . . .
I must say that I was a little dissapointed that it didn't "blow" a little harder. Was hoping for something like a new car; too much hope I guess. I also sealed all of the ductwork connections with some special 3M stuff. Also, don't have A/C yet, so jury still out.

It is nice to see that I am not the only nut out there.
the new blower motor/squirrell cage is 1 1/2 '' deeper so a shim must be made or reglass the housing to accept the deeper cage. i used a chimmeny stove pipe cap at menards for 6 bucks,,traced the outline of the blower and cut out w/ tin snips and used longer screws, also used a vaccume line slit lengthwise for a gasket, improved air fow slightly, add this to also changing all seals inside ductwork and adding a #10 ground wire from the blower motor to the starter mounting bolt(where the motor grounds) and it should improve the air flow,,look in the photo below..my next attempt will be to put a non g m blower motor from a car that had very good positive air flow to see the difference---------------------------------------------------------------------
