Default Plug Wires on the Passager Side!

OK, so I did the wires and plugs on the Drivers side on my 1975 L48, no problems...piece of cake. Then I went to the passagers side. how do you get the shielding off??????? NOt to mentio the two closest to the front are just a PIA. Can someone enlighten me on the Passager side in general (Plugs and Wires). I'm freaking out their man! Thanks!

The right side shield is held in place by one of the motor mount bolts, and a 1/4-20 bolt in the block just below the head. You may need to remove the starter before the shield can come off. The front 2 plug wires on each side run between the engine and the motor mount. I spray silicone lube on the plug boot and wire, then carefully remove the boot. Then feed it thru the mount, then re-assemble the boot.

You can do it without taking the starter out of your patient. Just like the previous post, spray the wire and remove the boot, spray it again and run it from the back side of the starter and feed it through the runner.

I used some trimmer line and taped it to the end....much easier to feed that first and then gently pull the wire and reinstall the boot.

That shileding is more trouble than it is worth. yes i have all the orifginal stuff for my 68, but I took it all off, and boxed it up for future use. Since I am putting the hooker header side pipes on, and already replaced the distributer with an HEI unit from DUI, none of it fits anymore anyway. Going with bright yellow wires and wire loom over the top of the engine just like the old camaro, Ill trim em to fit and route nicey nice, no more struggling with shields for me

Thanks Guys; everyone is always a great help! So I have one more question: I purchased SS Braided 8MM Lines from Mid America. They came with Grounds, should I use them?

Think I;m going to try and feed the lines thru the shielding. I'll tell you if this car did not have 31K original miles, I would rip this L48 OUT

Thanks guys

Also guys; I have AC; It would make the two closest to the nose easy but is the AC unit a Bi*tch to remove. Any more suggestions will be greatly appreciated. A simple project turned into a very long project and I want to get her back on the road.

If you have wires with shielding, then you got the wrong ones. I'm pretty sure those would be for a big-block engine, which doesn't have block mounted shields. They will also be too short, as big-blocks route the wires over the valve cover.

No, theer're not short. In fact they fit perfect. I wanted the look of the SS Lines; they show 1975 HEI: I attached the link:
