I have Hedman headers on my motor and 2 months ago while timing it, I didn't notice that one of the timing light wires was resting on one of the header tubes, which obviously melted the wire and left some plastic/rubber on the header tube. I cleaned it off, but now I see that it is starting to rust.
How should this be fixed? I'm guessing I should sand it down to the bare metal and use some sort of black heat paint, like they use for BBQ's, is this correct? They aren't ceramic coated or anything, just plain old black paint was on them when I bought them.
