Default Still Blowing Fuses

I took everyones advise and put a relay in for my electric fan. The problem is I'm still blowing 30 amp fuses with a 19 amp fan draw. It's not happening as often and I know that it is wired correctly. I did notice that when I turn on the fan my amp gauge does a nose dive in the negative direction and then slowly returns to the positive. Is it normal to have this much draw with a 19 amp fan pulling from a 100 amp alternator?

Any solutions are appreciated

It is possible for the fan to draw more than 30 amps for a split second when it first turns on, especially if its a kick @zz fan. Have you tried slow blow fuses?

Is your fan wired like this?

I have the fuse in between the fan and the relay. I notice your drawing shows the fuse in between the relay and the alternator. Maybe I don't have it wired correctly.

Thanks

BDVT69 you have done one heck of a resto on that car

i have read some of your previous threads regarding your electric fan issue. after relocating that fuse and your problem persist, it maybe time to look @ another area.
my question is what is the integity of the electric fan motor. did you check to see if it binds when you rotate the fan blades manually? any drag / binding would definately blow the fuse. also another possibility could be the electric motor intermittently shorting to ground internally while driving and hitting those rough patches. good luck!
