One morning after removing my interior pieces I noticed my rear window was missing. Much to my surprise it was hanging inside the car by the wires for the defroster. I'm in the process of removing the old adhesive. What type of adhesive/sealer do I need to use to re-install the rear window and what is the process for correctly re-installing it? Thanks
You can use the ribbon (stock type) from any of the vendors or you can use a tube of Urethane window install adhesive available from any glass company or some vette vendors. You will need the primer and need to clean the glass and window frame real good first. If you use the ribnbon like the factory did, you will need to keep the rear window trim in place or it will fall out again as the ribbon is a seal not an adhesive, the urethane is an adhesive. Put the window in DRY first and center it in the frame and see what clearances you need on the edges and use a piece of rubber or wood sliver to keep that space when you put the glass in with the seal or adhesive.
I definitely like the idea of the pop out window...don't really have the time to gather the parts and get it all together right now. I'll take your advice Aflac, I don't want to find out personally how you found out. Thanks
