Seats will not slide. Help
The seat not locking is the stops at the bottom on the back of your seat. The stops are adjustable by turning in and out which should allow the lock to engage. It is also possible to shim the stops on the bottom seat to get the seat back to sit higher.
Both conditions can be fixed without removing the seat, the stops easier than the slide rails, but you might want to take out the seat and give it a real overhaul.
Yes the seats are supposed to lock. Located in the top rear is a button which allows the release of the seat.
Located at the bottom rear of the seat are two bolts with rubber tips, these bolts can be adjusted to allow
the seat to lock in place. Next to allow the seat movement there is a shaft with a ball located on the right front
of the seat, by moving the ball to the right and holding it in that position you can move the seat in the direction
required. If this does not work then there are 4 bolts located on the floor(two to the front and two to the rear.
Remove these bolts and take the seat out of the car. Carefully locating the seat turn it over and observe that
there are 2 holes on the track, you may have to somehow move the track to see that there are 2 bolts that are
holding the seat to the tracks. Remove these bolts and the seat will now be separated from the track. Do this for
the other track. There are bearings 2 on top and two on the bottom which allow movement. Clean the tracks (wd40 or some other method that will allow free movement. Dry completely and then lubricat with white grease or other appropriate grease to keep
proper lubrication. When you get to this point reassemble and I hope that your wife enjoy's the drive.
Thanks
the rails with WD40. Let it work in for a short period of time. If you get any movement continue until you have
access to the front and rear bolts that hold the seat to the floor. then continue with the directions in the
previous reply. There is a post on this forum that can show you in detail somewhat of what I am refering to. Go to this article and it will show you what I am attempting to describe. http://www.corvettemagazine.com/2001...s/seatspg1.asp
