Default ralley wheel question

are, say monte carlo ralley wheels the same as corvette ones? Is the offset at the lug nuts different to give a ''deep dish'' effect.?
Also, what is the clearance from the round end of the tie rod ends to the wheel and tire? I have a problem with the tie rods hitting my tires.
I found the guy I got it from had put washers behind the wheel to push it away from the tie rods. the car is a 70. thanks

Probably for caliper clearance.

I'd be afraid to drive a car with washers for spacers.

The backspace on the Monte wheel may be different. Is that what's on your car? No spacers should be used. What sized tires are you running? Width in MM

Monte Carlo, Chevelle and Camaro Rallies have a 4.25" offset,..and yes, they're 7" wide vs a Corvette's 8" and the Vette rally has 4" offset. (though 68 had 7" wide rallies and the offset was 3.5).

The non-Vette rallies may 'work' but I'd jump on ebay or other places and purchase the correct 8 inchers.
