I would suggest waiting until you have the car reassembled and then roll it back and for a bit to see what you have. I think it's going to be difficult to tell what spring you have there unless you see an aftermarket label somewhere.

I agree while it may not seem like much, the door bumper and deck lid can make a big difference, I would put it all back forst then decide how to adjust

My spring from Midamerica did the same thing to mine.

What is the thread pitch? 9/16"-12 or 9/16"-18.

Also, changing to an 8 inch bolt only gives me another 1 inch of adjustment. I need at least 3. What about this. Does that upper link bushing look really really fat??

I am currently running 10" bolts right now on the rear spring. This was suggested by Gary at VB&P. They work great with no clearance problems. Mine sat "jacked up" also. Gary thought I possibly had a "stage 2" rear spring (9 leaf) which gives alot of lift. I was able to bring my rear end down nicely, where the 8" werent enough. Call Gary at VB&P, he has a set of 10" bolts on his Dad's 78 silver anniversary with no issues, as I do now.

What size tires and what width wheels are these? It looks like you have plenty of clearance for your sway bar and spring ends.

I definately recommend to get the correct spring. Looks like you got the same piece of garbage 9 leaf as I did. It will not settle. I drove my car numerous times and let it sit with the full weight of the car for about 5 months.

I have the 10" bolts that could be cut a little, but notice how the spring lines up with the sidewalls of the tire. Some guys on here have actually had them cut in their tires. I'm currently working with vansteel to get the correct spring.

My particular 1978 came with a shimmed 7 leaf 2.25" spring from the factory. I'm trying to get the the 7 leaf HD spring in 2.5" so I won't have to use the spacers.

Here's a quote from a parts catalogue

"Springs are shipped with band clamps which will need to be removed
prior to installation"

I bet it's those clamps at either end of your leaf spring that's
stopping the leaf from flexing. Every car pictured with the same problem still has the clamps on.

I'm sure that's the problem ,but don't get out the grinder till someone confirms it!

225/70 is the closest height compared to stock.

Well, today I picked up a set of 8" bolts from MSC Industrial Supply (http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT...MT4NO=6825832). BTW, they will sell them individually and also have them in longer sizes so you could use a custom length without having to cut them. My local CAT dealer didn't have them and needed several days to order them in. Anyway, maybe it will get me down an inch or two. I'll post the pics when done.

Look into that leaf spring band that might have to be removed. I've ready numerous threads on here where members have used 8 to 10" bolts and under heavy throttle the tires will widen and catch the bolts and tear. Be very careful, keep an eye on clearance. And put those darn parts back on to get an accurate idea of stance. Doors are heavy. Good Luck.

Corvette Central
I don't know if that's where your spring came from, but the instruction is on their online catalogue as well.

I'll probably get suspended for suggesting this ,but we could call their product assistance to learn more

you need to role the car back and forth to get it to settle after jacking it off the ground and even with a new spring it will take a week of driving for it to settle enough to see where it will sit at.
