Default Power Window Conversion in my 1971 C3

Because of medical problems, I cant bend like I used to. There are two options my vette didnt come with, but I would really like to add. One is tilt / tele. Thats pretty easy. But what about putting power windows in? Not really looking at aftermarket kits, unless one is really good, more looking at the whole factory conversion.

What obsticles do I need to look for in my 71? Got aq great electrical mechanic, thats not the biggezt problem, I am looking more towards the mechanics and hardware required.

Thankx

Re:power windows. The technology back then was pretty basic. I have had mine apart serveral times. From what I see here is what I think. First check your fuse panel for a spot for a power window fuse, should be marked "PWR". Second, you will have to change the consol, no spot on yours for the switches. Third you will need a power window wiring harness. Fourth, door framing should be the same you will need to swap out the regulator you have with a power window regulator, should mount in the same place. Fifth, not sure but your door glass should be the same. Sixth, you will either have to replace the door panel or cap where your crank is.

My guess is everything for mounting the hardware should be there. I doubt GM build two types of inner doors, one for manual windows and one for power windows. The fuse panel should also be the same, should have a spot for a "PWR" fuse, just no fuse or wire coming out of the back of the panel.

Eckler's sells a complete OE style PWD conversion kit. But, it is expensive, $699. Check out my gallery, you can (sort of) see it. Take a look at the picture labelled "Dynamat installed". I have a better pic, if you're interested.
