Default Ignition gurus, need your advice...

I have a very bad engine miss at any rpm above idle, especially with a load on the engine. I have a MSD 6AL and Blaster coil. I had a Pertronix ignitor that I replaced with points hoping to solve the problem. No improvement. My plugs are gapped at .045. Today, I pulled the plugs (6 are black, 2 look normal) put in a fresh set gapped to .035, bypassed the MSD. Car ran worse. Could barely back out of the garage. Now I think I may have a bad coil. I have the black wire from distributor on coil negative. There are two wires on the positive of the coil (ignition and battery?). My original coil bracket has a place where a condensor or resistor would go. There is no condensor. Should one be hooked up and where would it go? I need to make sure I have this wired right before I try another coil. Any other suggestions?

The condensor isn't necessary, it is just to prevent AM radio static. I had a similar problem last year just before I installed my Pertronix Ignitor and it turned out to be a bad coil.
