Default Hydraulic roller cam conversion

Before anyone yells at me, I already did a search. If it's been covered, I'd appreciate a link.
My next project is to convert to a hydraulic roller LT4 Hot Cam. The conversion lifters are over $400, but there is a guy on ebay selling instructions for $20 to use all GM parts for a fraction of the cost. Here:

Anyone here done this? How many miles so far, and any problems?

I have a set of the directions, they are quite comprehensive. I just need to get some lifters so I can start working on it.

I just heard from the guy selling the instructions. You have to yank and disassemble the engine. It's worth the $400 lifter to not have to do that. I got less than 5k miles since my rebuild.

It makes sense if you're doing it during a rebuild. Shortly after, I agree that the retrofits are the way to go.
