Want to buy a new or rebuilt carb for l48 with mild cam. Prefer Holley DP since thats what is now on there. Anyone know where I can get one at a decent price? If anyone can help.please let me know or if anyone has one for sale email me.
TIA
Rich
Have you done anything else to the L48 other than the cam? If not, I can't see why a Holley 670 cfm Vac. sec. Street Avenger wouldn't do the trick. As a disclaimer, there are about 1,000 people on this forum with greater carb wisdom than myself.
Brett,
One day it's running great and the next day it runs like crap. Make a few adjustments and it will run ok then next day it's back to crap again. it's running rich and idle bumps up and down. can't get it to run on the lean side. Has mild cam, don't know the specs on it. the carb seems old and I think it needs rebuilt, but lars is not doing them till next year and I don't think I can wait.

I didn't put the cam in it, I was told by the guy I bought it from that it was put in by the orig. own. ran like there was one in it. now it's giving me all kind of grief.
You may want to check out AEDPerformance.com, they are here on the East Coast. They hand build and test before they ship. Comparable in price to everyone else but I believe their quality is better.

YES... I had a holley 750... it work decent ran decent....
If you go with a double pumper carb it will work better with a single plane intake. This setup is better for higher revving engines. If you have a dual plane intake stick with a vacuum secondary carb. This will be better for driveablility.

Unless your pushing 400hp@6000 you don't need a double pump carb. Even a 70 LS6 came with vacuum secondary's.
