Default Poll: Does C3 Section Need Separate Tech/General Forums

Don't like whining but if you don't log in for a couple of days (like a weekend) the number of posts here is mind boggling and it takes a lot to boggle me

Since the C4 and C5 boys have their own separate General and tech sections, how about doing that over here in C3.

Now...since our cars are quite old, most questions would seem to be technical in nature so maybe we could have Engine/Drivetrain as the 'tech' section and everything else in the General? Or does anyone have a better idea. Post your suggestion.

I like having just one, then I only have to monitor one, and I don't miss anything. BUT, I think maybe we should have a C3 Off Topic or something forum, where the C3 guys can hang out, but post things that don't really belong in here. THere is definitely getting to be a LOT of traffic.

I agree with ddn - have an off-topic C-3 section. :smash:

Actually, I think it would be nice if all of the forums...including Off Topic had a separate POLL section so that those of we who are disinterested in all these damn polls all the time could get on with our lives not wanting to know how we fit in, statistically speaking, or even caring. I'm just tired of having to scroll through all this garbage to get to topics.

Bingo! I agree with gerry72. Put these polls somewhere else. Geez, there's even a poll for the value of polls....enough already.

I agree with gerry72. Just create a section for polls. Then they can poll about polls and everything else.

I like it the way it is. If we go with another section your just going to find yourself surfing there too. This place is addictive. Leave it the way it is. And yes, whos idea is offering polls. This is getting ridiculous.

This question seems to come up every 3 - 4 weeks. The answer is NO. Keep it all here in one. I HATE the multiple C5 forums, so don't even bother to read the general one most of the time. Every once in a while, I peek over there, and sometimes I'm surprised what I'm missing.

Here, I can get it all in one place. And if I'm gone a few days, it just takes a litle longer to catch up.

We ARE the C3-musketeers: all for one, and one (forum) for all! :yesnod:

i'll bet you will be less likey to miss a post if you have two C3 sections to follow, because at this rate, new posts drop off the main page pretty fast. one for tech help, the other for our standard C3 talk, BS-ing, polls  , etc.

check this out:

C5 tech gets 7.2 posts/hr
C5 general gets 1.3 posts/hr

C4 tech gets 4.5 posts/hr
C4 general gets 1.7 posts/hr

C3 gets 9.7 posts/hr!!!

it is time to make two C3 sections :yesnod:

I posted this same thread a few weeks ago and it was pretty much then as it is now... keep it like it is. I follow the factory correct resto forum also. What I do is open another window (Ctrl-N) then go to that forum. That way I can follow both at the same time by jumping back and forth.

Seperate them, I get tired of those "what color do you like best" questions.

I vote for a seperate technical section so that those of us who want to fix our cars can do so while others keep track of who is wearing what kind of shirt today and what is the name of everyone's favorite goldfish.

Cam,

Are those numbers right? I'm surprised, 'coz I could have sworn that each of the C5 sections had more traffic than the C3 forum! At least that's the way things were some time ago...

Cam,

You're right: the C3 forum seems to have more traffic than either C5 section (but not more than both C5 forums together). However the average posts/hour for the C5 general forum is not accurate: it considers that forum as being active since the beginning of the Corvette Forum, which is not true, and that lowers the average. If you look at the raw post numbers, the C5 General forum has actually more traffic than the tech section.
