They dont make any crate motors that are Fuel injection specific? At least motors in this price range?
You could order a TBI long block like a 87-95 truck that would work well. THe problem is that the intake will not directly bolt on-the middle 2 bolts on each side changed angles in 86. The only ones that didn't are the aluminum head L98 Corvette engines. If it was me, I would buy a Targetmaster universal 350 and change the cam. Everything will bolt right up. Cheap and easy.

I hear a lot of good things about Jasper engines. Good warranty as well - you might give them a shot. Keep the original for sure, it could make a difference at resale time. Good luck with whatever route you choose.

Is anyone from the New York Area? My sister spoke to someone @ Majestic Corvette Inc. Its in Deer Park, Long Island. Anyone familiar with this shop? He said that either a rebuild or a new motor would cost around $1900. Does this sound good? Were going to go look at the shop over the weekend. I guess a rebuild would be the best if she wants it stock.

I was hoping she would go with something that has more power - but as long as the Vette is up and running for the summer I guess its all good.

Thanks again for the help guys

The 260HP Goodwrench is only $1300

If you (your sister) really wants to keep the original engine, I'd still get the $1300 engine and restore the original engine (with good internals) later as time and money allows ... and drive the Vette while the other engine is being restored.....just my 2c.....

...ever checked into Marshall/BluePrint Engines???

...I put that GM 350ci 4bolt main 260hp "Direct '73-'85 Replacement Engine" in my '75 two years ago and 6700mi later still purrs like a kitten. Got mine through a GM Dealership InterWeb sale for $1187. 3yr/36K mile warranty too. Everything was a perfect bolt-up. Not one surprise-used my exhaust manifolds, fuel pump, water pump, intake, carb, starter, alternator, distributor, motor mounts, 4spd bellhousing, etc. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
