Default help IDing shifters

dont really know where to put this, so hopefully here will work.

i just spent the last 45mins or so diging around hurst websites and google and cant seem to find what this hurst shifter im holding fits.

I don't think the patent number will mean much to those here. Anything else to go on?

nope, all ive got is those 3 numbers.

i guess i should clarify that though. the pat number is 3216274

and then 170311R is stamped on the side, vertical of the pat number.

3138 is stamped on the front of the shifter.

i emailed Mr. gasket, who seems to be one of the main suppliers of Hurst, and was told that none of the numbers check out. i was told that Hurst has been bought and sold 10-12 times, and every time theres less and less information about older models.
