Spent the weekend installing the hooker super comp stainless set up on my buddy's sweet '76. Wow what a difference. No mufflers at the moment (on order) so we are anxious to hear the blast off.
Did you reinstall the lower rockers behind the 4" tubes? I've seen a few people do this. But looking at the mounting hardware/fasteners that I got with my hooker super comp sidepipes it doesn't look easy. Any tricks of the trade?
Very nice end result. Mine are a bit more cloudy since I got the ceramic coating. Also should be receiving my STS baffles any day now.
Sooo excited.

Thanks for the good words. We did re-install the rocker panels without having to cut on them. However, we could not use the mounting hardware that Hooker sent because the pipes would have been way too high and be at an angle. In our case, the headers hung too low to use those mounts. We had to drill the frame rail about 1 1/4" lower than the original tab mount. By doing this, we were also able to slip the pipes further into the collector which shortened the overall length of the pipe. We liked the shorter length because the tip of the pipe wasn't so close to the rear tire. Anyway, the whole install really was a royal beyatch . Mainly for us because my friend has upgraded to modern suspension and installed a rack-n-pinion. I would definately not want to do this on a big block car. I'll be posting the final pictures soon.
The headers were bought from a speed shop in ATL called Barnett Performance and were $150 less than Summit. Pipes came from Summit. We still have a pretty serious issue in that the drivers side header is touching the steering rack. Looks like we're gonna have to take that sucker off again and "manipulate" it. Anyway, this mother sounds amazing. I have posted a video and sound link from the initial startup, check it out. http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i5...t=IM000161.flv
