Default need hp

I have a 72 454 vette trouble is it's only 270 hp I would like to make it about 400-435 hp what is the best and the cheepest way to do this?

i just went 4 the total rebuild on my 454......it's realy hard 2 say because if u just chang a few things wich a lot of guys will say 2 do....things like the cam,intake n carb...u dont know if the heads r any good or your exhaust or your pistons need 2 be changed..best advice is take her 2 a good performance mech. n let him advise u...it's a must see before one can advise......you will get more advise....good luck...

Speed costs money. How fast you want to go depends on how much you want to spend. They are inexpensive ways to make HP but it always costs something. Make sure your short block is in good condition before throwing cam intake and headers on it if this is what you are going to do. Heads is what makes the HP.

gords right..i kept my mark 1V block-.040 over,427 heads n edelbrock performer rpm intake....everything else is new n i'm still stuck 4 about 7,000.....it never ends.....but it's worth it......good luck.....
