Default New to the Board

Folks,

Just wanted to drop a new post. I have been a long time lurker and just returned from my 2d tour in Iraq and decided to join the forum.

I have had my 71 BB for just over (10) years. I have done all of the work myself over the years with complete restorations of the suspension, fuel lines, brake lines, wiring, drivetrain etc. Only thing I haven't done is the paint which is about (10) years old and will need an upgrade this winter.

This engine had (10) years of good service on it and only about 10K miles so I decided to update the engine as a little therapy.

Here is the list of upgrades:

Edelbrock Aluminum Heads (Oval Port / 100CC chamber 2.19/1.88)

COMP Cams Camshaft
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 218° Intake / 224°
Lift / .504'' Intake / .510'' Exhaust

COMP Cams Roller Rockers
Factory Aluminum Spreadore Intake
Dewitts Aluminum Radiator

The engine is a 454 that is .40 over with flat tops.

I will update you all as it is completed and try to figure out how to attach some photos.

Regards, Schriner

Looks like we'll be "neighbors"! I PCS to the Springs in Jun stationed at Pete Field. Did my rear suspension and drive train this winter, looking at a front suspension project next winter.

Welcome back. I got back from my tour about a year ago. On leave I bought my very first Vette, a 76. It ain't the hottest thing on earth but I love it and hope to make it the first in a long line of Sharks. I guess all that combat pay was good for something. Take care.
