Default Discount Tire Direct?

Has anyone ever ordered tires from Discount Tire Direct? How are they? I'm a big fan of TireRack; unfortunately they are out of stock on Goodyear F1s (255/45/17) and thought it could be 2 months before they get them.

Thanks!

I have bought a few tires and wheels from them. I have never bought from Tire Rack though. The stores (Discount Tires) will sell for the same price as the internet. Some are in stock and some have to be ordered (at no charge). I have to drive 45 miles to Orlando.
They have a lifetime balance and rotation deal that's hard to beat, for $12 per tire.
I used to go to Tire Kingdom....tires are over priced and the balance deals are high....and always trying to sell you a brake job!!!
Discount Tires only do tires!!! Best of luck

I've never used DTD, but I've heard good things. Find a shop that has a Hunter GSP9700 wheel balancer to do the mount and balance job. Hunter's website has a "shop locator" that will tell you who has one near your location.

Bought from both... Most recently Nitto 555R's from Discount...
both are easy to deal with and usually call to confirm the sizes 'cause they are no where near stock

Becareful with the F1's, a buddy of mine has a VW R32 and use to run F1's. Those tires have a tendency to bubble if you hit any decent size pothole. Many members on his VWVortex forum have had the same problems with the F1's. Not sure if this was a batch of tires issue or a flaw in their general F1 design. Toyo Proxis T1R's or Mich PS2's seem to be a good alternative. Just do some research before buying or drive really really careful!
Good luck.

I have to disagree, my experience has not been good. I almost always had to have them rebalance my tires after they mounted them. The final straw was several years ago when they changed out the snows on my wife's A4 and left two lug nuts off of one wheel. And, several lug nut covers off the ones they remembered to install.

I need new tires for my Allroad so yesterday I looked up prices on Tire Rack, then against my better judgement I called Discount 'cause I knew they would match the price. The Broomfield store said they would and had them in stock so I said I'd be over today at 11:15 to get them installed. I called today at 10;30 to confirm and they said they'd have to bring in the tires and I could come in late today. Screw 'em! I just ordered from Tire Rack and will have the local Goodyear mount and balance.
