speedometer noise

speedometer noise
Hi, could someone help me identify the part (name) that I need to order. Here is the situation: their is a wearing noise or spinning noise from my speedometer (1977) I cant find "speedometer head"? on corvette america website what is the tech. name of piece I need?

i think i would try to grease your speedometer cable first before replacing the actual speedometer.
my speedometer made a noise like you describe. greasing the cable fixed the problem and cost me nothing but time.
speedometers are not cheap. try the low cost ideas first. replacing the speedometer should be the last thing you do after exhasuting all other possibilities.

w/Mike it doesn't sound like the s.m is bad just the cable.
