What type of sound and performance difference did you notice?

my 83 truck with TPI has just dual hi-flow cats and no mufflers, 3-4 years now. I ran my 89 IROC that way for a few years too with the 3" single exhaust. They have a bit of an odd sound, kind of "tinny".

E_Tar, i ran the mufflers through true duals 2 1/2 pipes from the headers with no cats. Boy, it sounds like a big block. My only worry now is getting it to pass smog in 2008. Oh and also hope that I don't get pulled over and look underneath. Got someone to do it for 250 out the door. My cat was trash to begin with and it was rattling inside.
