I'm trying to find a good spot to mount the LT1 ECM under the dash area of my 70 coupe, which is difficult since the dash, or any interior for that matter, is in the car yet. I found this spot, and other than possibly trimming an inche or two off the top of the kick panel it could work. Any thoughts or other recommendations for mounting this thing?

It's that somewhere that gets you, I couldn't find a spot for my MSD, which is one reason I don't have it installed....
I have a non weather CPU, and so it's inside, I feel less heat is allways a good thing for electronics....
I mounted my L-98 PCM up underneath the cruise control transponter. Drivers side fender well. My LS1 PCM is on the other side now. It's out of the heat and doesn't get wet.
Those of you that mounted it inside, any find a good spot under the dash, and where exactly did you put it? Looking for suggestions...
A 92-93 ECM is weatherpacked? I know the 97 ECM I had was but was unsure about this one, good to know in case I give up on finding a spot in the car...

Stump, what's the number on the case? It looks exactly like the 7727s that I have, which are made for underhood mounting. Makes wiring the engine much easier. I'm pretty sure the LT-1 Corvettes used the underhood mounting position.
My ls1 pcm is inside behind map pocket, you can just see the last inch or 2 of the bottom of the map pocket, the tpi ecm was hidden behind the map pocket,it was smaller.

I mounted my Holley Commander ECM behind the map pocket also. It happened to fit very well in the space where the old radio transitor output amp used to be. Today's radios don't require externel power output transistors and I have no plans for rumbling the windows of adjacent cars with an external amp.......the 427 with Hookers does a good job of that

Bullshark
This location worked for me also. Lots of room behind the map pocket panel.
My FAST ECU is mounted in the glove compartment where it easy to connect to a laptop. It is a dry, not overly hot location. When I first converted to the TPI, I used a stock GM ECU and mounted it behind the gill. This was readily accessible and I never had a problem.
