Default Any other bolts needed?

I'm getting the remaining stuff for my engine rebuilt. But want to make sure I don't miss anything.

I started with a shortblock and will take what else I need from the engine in the vette. But I wanted to make sure that I don't miss something I should get new, etc.

Here's what I am looking to get.

o ARP (or Summit or Ebay) engine bolt kit. Can't decide between Allen head or stainless hex heads.
o Oil pump stud
o Timing cover (alum. or gold iridite) & pointer
o harmonic balancer bolt

Anything I may be missing? Do the engine bolt kits work with the short water pumps we have?

Thanks.

I used the ARP 12point Stainless bolt/washer kit and they all worked fine.Just use anti-seeze especially if you are going into aluminum. A little extra effort can save you a bunch of pain/time/aggravation down the road. I used anti-seize on everything unless it required thread seal.

if you are using headers you may need different bolts for those so they don't bottom out

Head bolts, carb studs & bolts, tranny to block bolts, flywheel bolts, clutch to flywheel bolts.

Thanks for the tips.

I've picked up a set of head bolts previously. The carb bolts are reuse from
the existing carb. The tranny, flywheel and clutch bolts all are relatively new
from when I replaced the clutch 2 years ago.

Will check the headers - what's the standard flange thickness to ensure the bolts don't bottom out ? I'm going to be using hedman headers. If I don't get the allen head kit, I'll get separate allen head bolts for the headers.

Anything else?

Thanks.
