You will need to shorten your driveshaft & install a different yoke I believe. You can modify your crossmember, but you may want to buy a new one from bowtie overdrives. I believe a modified stock crossmember holds the 700r4 a little bit higher than stock. This could cause problems with your fan hitting the shroud up front.

i used the yoke on the th350 and had the drive shaft shortened, remember you need to take the yoke with you to get the drive shaft balanced, i used a BTO cross member, it did not make the front of the engine sit higher but it did give me lots of room for the dual exhaust, you will need a shift detent kit (although others have skipped this), you need a TV cable linkage kit and an electrical kit to lock up the torque converter. this is a great upgrade

Here's some pics of my crossmember mod. I bought some 4" square tubing cut it to fit and drilled the slotted holes. I was too cheap to spend the $200 for the Bowtie crossmember plus with sidepipes I don't need the extra room.

I was in too big of a hurry to sandblast and paint the rest of the crossmember.

I would say that's accurate. I had about 2 or 3 days of work into the swap. Dumb stuff like changing the shift interlock mounts and drilling out the old shift detent seem to eat up the most time.
