Depending on your trim code your car could have had leather or vinyl. You can check your trim code on the inside drivers side door near the front and it will tell you.

I realize that, now you have 3 choices when replacing the leather option. The leather option came with the deluxe interior. I just didn't realize that you now have the 3 options when deciding on replacing the leather option seat covers.
In 1969 GM changed from a 100 percent cover to a leather vinyl in 1970. They did not return to the 100 percent cover until they went to the 1984 complete seat design change. They changed this design due to excess wear in the side bolsters of the seats.... Thus the vinyl was added to make the covers stronger.
If you are going to show this car then they would work fine, but if you are going to drive the car and use it accordingly, they will wear out faster than the original style leather vinyl seat covers.
Option 3:
100% True Leather.
Not available on ebay but priced at $370.00 US. by phone at Wilcox..
I was told that original was Option 2 which is leather/vinyl. Which ones does everyone normally go with, and has anyone tried the 100% leather?

Hi, I just installed the Leather covers with Vinyl sides. They look good ! At first, they sent me the Leather Like covers by mistake and I was not to impressed by them...
My '69 had a '74 leather interior. I know it due to the stamped Aug 73 dates on the door panels and the seat belt interlock switch found under the seats.
It was just shy of 100% leather from the factory. The only vinyl was near the top of the seat backs where the shoulder harnesses pass through the seat trim. When I got replacement covers they had much more vinyl - but the guys who made them were happy to exchange them for 100% leather ones. They thought they shouldn't have had so much leather from the factory.

The leather/vinyl combination is factory correct for leather interior cars.
I went with 100% leather from Corvette America a little over 2 years ago. Great covers and the fit and finish was terrific. They look and smell great on the car even today. It was all part of a frame-off, so the added cost was almost unnoticed.
