Set up: Original 454, Th400, 3.08 Rear, AC

Build up:

Engine rebuild kit with Forge Dome pistons (TRW-L2399F) ]http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=FEM%2DCSMHP767%2D000 &N=4294908216+4294840133+4294889122+4294 870280+4294891094+4294925079+4294891059+ 4294870272+4294870270+4294870274+115&aut oview=sku[/URL]

Heads: Edelbrock Performer RPM Oval 110cc (EDL-60459) 2.19/1.88

Intake?: Weiand Stealth, Weiand Action Plus, Edelbrock Performer, RPM, AirGap

Carb: Stock Quadrajet - May change in future

Crankshaft: Stock

Cam: Lunati Voodoo Hydraulic flat tappet or Mechanical flat tappet
256/262 213/219 .515"/.530" 112/108
RPM 1000-5500
Hydraulic: Best mild performance cam. Works
excellent in fuel Injection applications. Makes
approximately 19" vacuum at idle. Great for
performance oriented marine applications and
heavy duty 454 Dually towing applications.
Perfect "Street Rod" cam. Has slightly noticeable
idle, works with stock converter, A/C, power
brakes and stock valve springs in most cases.
Excellent in oval port engines.

262/268 219/227 .530"/.542" 112/108
RPM1400-5800
Hydraulic: Mid-level performance street cam
with excellent drivability. Exceptional
replacement for "muscle car type cam" with
automatic transmissions. Works well with stock
type exhaust Manifolds and dual plane intake
with mild 4 bbl carb. This is an Awesome 4X4
and performance marine cam where "Dry"
exhaust is used. Improved valve springs and
roller rockers recommended. Excellent in oval
port engines.

268/276 227/233 .542"/.554" 110/106
RPM1800-6200
Hydraulic: The most awesome "268" cam ever
produced Out-powers all others This High
Performance street cam likes 2400 RPM stall,
800 cfm carb, dual plane intake and headers.
Makes un-equaled power to 6200 RPM with
proper valve springs. If you're looking for a Very
Strong cam with great street manners for your
"Crate Motor" this is it Factory EFI motors need
custom chips/tuning.

Torque Converter Stall: ?

Transgo Shift Kit

Exhaust: Hooker sidepipes

What do you think the HP and TQ figures will be as well as RWHP. Please give me your suggestions and opinions.

Here's what I'd do:

Immediately switch heads to Brodix Race Rites..ovals. The exhaust ports are in stock location, they are much better quality casting and they flow much better. MORE power! You could also go to some 305 or 315 CNC AFR's, but ex ports are slightly raised possible making it tough on header fitment with sidepipes. Probably OK though....only like .375 or so higher. Another option would be the CNC BMF310 heads. But ports are raised pretty high on them too. I'd just use the Brodix for no hassles.

I'd use the RPM Air Gap. When the big block version of the new Weiand Action seris comes out...I'd sure look at it too. It may be out now....I know they did lots of development against the RPM's to make sure they could beat them.

Of those cams...for sure the last one. You can use some cam to make the heads work, and that one shouldn't be too hairy for your gears and converter. The Voodoo's are designed by Harold Brookshire who used to own Ultradyne cams. He knows his stuff and designs things a little different. One thing you want to make sure of is that you have a very good fuel system with these cams and head upgrades.

Headers...I'd look for 1-7/8" or maybe 2" max....for a 454" motor. Whatever you do..don't use the mufflers that come with the Hookers....you'll be choked back down to small block levels!

Of course you know that 496" stroker kits are pretty cheap these days!! Cubes are fun!! And they never show from the outside!

If you're going with new domed pistons anyway there are much better heads out there than the Edelbrock RPM's. With 3.08's you probably won't be revving real high all the time so you will be better off using some 'smaller' oval port heads which will generate better low end torque. However, if you plan to swap out the rear at some point (up to 3:70's for instance) you may want to consider some larger rectangle port heads which will flow better at higher RPM's. This is what I plan to do down the line so I chose the AFR 305's.

You mentioned a future L-88 hood, be forewarned that none of the intakes you have listed will fit under the stock BB hood. Your options are pretty much limited to the Torker II, RPM performer, and LS-6 intake. Even then you'll probably need a drop base air cleaner to clear the stock BB hood. I've head great reviews about the Performer RPM intake though.
