While doing some work in my console on my '82 the other day, I noticed a hole in the tranny tunnel where it looked like the shift cable went through. There was no grommet installed which means I could see daylight below.
Is there supposed to be something sealing up that opening?
Also, I noticed Ecklers had a piece of thermal insulation they are selling now to help out with the heat that comes up through there. Anyone used this product yet?
As you may know all 1982's were automatic. Maybe they used the same floor pan on the 82 as in previous years when "standard" existed.
I just had my consol apart and di not notice a hole or day light. I assume there must be a rubber plug there. Nothing I can think of that goes through the floor in that area.
