I need to replace my main A/C hose assembly on my 77Late 350L. Has anyone replaced this assembly? Looks like I might have to remove the hood to get at the condenser connection without possibly damaging the hood. Is this assumption correct. It looks like I can reach the other end of the hose connection from under the car, but not sure. Any help/previous experience with this task would be appreciated. Cheers..

Make Marks for the hood-hinge alignment!!!...cant stress enough how much using your kids crayons will be benificial to this.
then
Remove hood (with help)...do ALL radiator and condensor repairs needed while hood is off and out of the way.
Its a great time to replace headlight vaccuum lines, tranny cooler lines, radiator hoses, even remove the radiator and replace those foam seals before the summer heat is here...repair nose clips, other body clips...anything that the hood gets in the way of.
Its just one of those "while-I'm-at it" repairs that is very, very smart...kinda like doing all the repairs while the dash is out...its just one of those things you dont enjoy doing over and over again.
I replaced the A/C line on my 79 last year with out removing the hood, but it was a real bit. When you attach the other end to the dryer it helps if you remove the overflow bottle, plus with it removed they can get to the fittings to charge it.
