Need suggestions for an alternator bracket.
Thanks in advance,

I used the 72-78 cast iron bracket that bolts to the accessory holes on the front of the driver side cylinder head. It aligns perfectly and its very sturdy. The 79-82 aluminum one will work also. Check them out at:

For the bottom support I used a long grade 8 bolt, and a thick spacer. The bolt went through the mounting hole on the alternator , then the spacer, and then into a hole on the cylinder head.
For the upper mount I used an adjustable length rod with sperical ends. One end went a water pump mounting bolt (also longer) and then to the top of the alternator.
Instead of a rod with ends, you could use one of the universal brackets they sell in Jegs or Summit. It basically is a long curved piece of chromed metal with a bolt hole on one end (to mount to the engine) and a slot that the upper alternator mounting bolt goes through.
