hey folks. the fuel pump wouldn't shut off until i pulled the fuse. where is the fuel pump relay? and does it make sense that its the culprit? why is there a jumper wire between the right terminal of that fuse and the right terminal of the breakdr assembly below it? is this a bubba thing?

Yep, sounds like Bubba rewired your fuel pump.

The fuel pump relay is inside the compartment behind the battery. You will have to remove the storage compartment behind the seats to see it. There might be more than one relay in there but I believe the fuel pump relay has a tan and white wire going to it. I'm not sure if it is the problem or not, but I suppose if it were to fail in the on position it would let the pump continue to run. You will find you ECM there too.

I recently had the same problem on my 1982 C/E. It is located in the battery compartment. I had to remove the battery then remove the ECM then after I found the relay sittng there behind the ECM to remove it I had to pull the carpeting back because the screw heads are under the carpeting..after that its a breeze.........

Good luck! but it does sound like thats your problem, it fixed mine with almost the same problem you have described.
