Electric fan hook-up suggestions
Pay day today so the Summit catalog is open on my desk. Going to pick up an electric low profile pusher fan to mount in front of the a/c unit as discussed in an earlier post. My question is to those using them do I hook it up so it comes on in regards to a preset temp or when the a/c comes on?? My runnning hot problems occur on the hi-way with the a/c on so I was leaning towards an a/c hook up. I guess I could even wire it direct to a switch and turn it on manually as the temp rises. Whatever way what would be needed to hook it up. I see some kits that Summit has containing relays, in line fuses etc. If you have a working unit I'd like to hear how you hooked it up and what type/brand kit you used.

I had a manual switch for mine, but recently got an temp switch from Summit. It provides a ground to turn the fan on.
I wired a relay to the ignition switch, so the fan would only run if ignition was on. Then wired the relay ground to the temp switch. No thinking involved, it just turns itse;lf on.

Ordered the fan with an a/c relay. I'll try it this way and maybe look into hooking it up thermostatically later. Will keep you updated as to how it works . cant wait for the 90 deg days to start so I can try it out.
