I have a temp sending unit in both heads. I found the replacement for driver side (1-pin connector), but cannot locate the passenger side (2-pin connector).
Checked the Hayne's manual last night and it says sometimes there are 2 units in the car but only one is used Why put the other one in?
If your year Vette was originally equipped with TCS (transmission controlled spark), it is the temp sender for that. An early pollution control device. This is the senser in the right side cyl head.
Looks like your car is a 74 and has/had the TCS. It is a sensor to tell the system what temp the motor is at and weather to let the vacuum advance go or not to go. You don't really need this. It did not work real well. Just leave the sensor out and plug the hole.
Yes the right side is the passenger side and is not needed.
Do you have electric cooling fans on your car? On cars with those fans, the temp switch for turning on those fans is in the passenger side head and is a two contact type. Available at most auto parts store...just look for cooling fan switch.
